HawkEye 360 Operational Status of Cluster 9 and Cluster 10

Reading Time: < 1 minute

HawkEye 360, the world’s provider of space-based radio frequency (RF) data and analytics, announced that its Cluster 9 satellites have achieved Full Operational Capability (FOC), significantly boosting the company’s data collection and global monitoring capabilities.

Additionally, Cluster 10 has reached Initial Operational Capability (IOC) and is expected to be fully operational by early November. Cluster 9 was launched alongside Cluster 8 in April 2024 and Cluster 10 in August 2024.

Cluster 9, positioned in a mid-inclination orbit, provides expanded coverage over our high demand regions. While its baseline capability mirrors that of earlier clusters, Cluster 9 features upgraded payloads that will be incrementally activated throughout 2025. These enhancements will allow for increased data collection, wider bandwidth, and multi-band signal capture. Ultimately Cluster 9 enhances HawkEye 360’s capability to detect, characterize, and geolocate RF signals essential for communications, navigation, and security.

HawkEye 360 now operates a growing constellation of 31 satellites, delivering global situational awareness across land and sea. Cluster 10 will increase revisit frequency to strategically important areas and evolve similarly to Cluster 9, gradually improving the volume and depth of data collection. These advancements will provide timely insights, further supporting global security and operational needs.
