Hovermap Lidar point clouds and panoramic images are now accessible for high-quality viewing and sharing across multiple locations using Cintoo’s platform, significantly improving communication and interpretation of 3D scan data.
In partnership with Cintoo – a cloud platform provider for collecting, collaborating, sharing, and managing reality capture data – Emesent, creator of the acclaimed Hovermap Lidar mapping and autonomy solution, is delivering high-resolution, web-based visualization of 3D scan data tailored to the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
Hovermap, a versatile SLAM-based mobile Lidar scanning system, supports a broad range of data capture methods, from autonomous robots and vehicle mounts to handheld scanning devices. It also captures georeferenced panoramic images aligned with the point cloud, providing essential context for reality capture.
Deeper data insights
Cintoo’s platform transforms point cloud data into a 3D mesh, streamlining the viewing and interpretation process while preserving high resolution. Built to integrate reality-capture data into scan-to-BIM workflows, the platform enhances comparisons with BIM and CAD models, digital twin applications, and asset tagging.
By supporting Hovermap Lidar data and images, Cintoo enables users to gain deeper insights from their data through a single source of truth, ultimately improving decision-making and project outcomes.
“Hovermap is renowned for delivering fast, accurate, survey-grade 3D data, but for applications such as asset or site inspection, the captured Lidar data is often required to be viewed remotely across multiple sites. Cintoo enables us to deliver this in ways we haven’t previously offered on our own,” said Emesent co-founder and chief strategy officer, Stefan Hrabar. “Our aim is to make the relevant workflows from capture to analysis as streamlined as possible. To achieve that, we looked for a cloud-based visualization platform that could handle the rich 3D data and images produced by Hovermap. Cintoo helps us support this goal,” he added.
Ecosystems
Cintoo co-founder and CEO Dominique Pouliquen noted that the end-to-end 3D scan data solution partnership with Emesent will provide significant value to customers. Together, Cintoo and Emesent will offer an all-round new solution that promotes streaming Hovermap data within the Cintoo platform.
Customers will be able to use Cintoo to merge data from various scan sources – mobile, terrestrial, and drone – regardless of the hardware vendor, including Emesent’s Hovermap technology. Importing BIM/CAD models and overlaying them with scan data will enable customers to quickly run comparisons, identify issues, and take corrective action.
Additionally, Cintoo can be integrated into asset management, IoT, and digital twin ecosystems to display and document tagged equipment in its as-built conditions, providing accurate context. As a centralized repository for 3D scan data produced by Emesent Hovermap, Cintoo enhances the efficiency and accuracy of visualization and scan-to-BIM processes.
“We’re excited to be partnering with Emesent, allowing us to jointly offer a complementary solution for the capture, processing, and sharing of high-definition digital twin data to AEC customers,” Dominique Pouliquen concluded.
